The amendments to the adopted reference codes are listed by section. The first digits identify the title and chapter followed by the article, section and subsection of the adopted code to which the amendment refers, i.e., section 23.30.210.23D refers to article 210, section 23 and subsection D of the National Electrical Code (AMC chapter 23.30), The edition of the opted reference codes and amendments are listed in the table under section 23.05.010.

At least one copy of each code of technical regulation adopted by reference in section 23.05.010 shall be kept in the office of the municipal clerk.

Except as otherwise expressly provided, all provisions of title 23 shall apply throughout the municipality, with the exception that the requirements to apply for and complete the building permit, plan review, and building inspection processes shall be optional in areas outside the Anchorage Building Safety Service Area (ABSSA). The ABSSA is defined in AMC section 27.30.040. The boundaries of the ABSSA are outlined on a map located in AMC section 27.30.700. If any portion of a property is located within the ABSSA, the property shall be considered in the ABSSA and the requirements of this title apply.
