For the purpose of this chapter, the following definitions shall apply:
(1) 
“Dangerous weapon”
includes, but is not limited to mean, any weapon or device capable of propelling a missile through the force of compressed air or gas, or through the contraction of any elastic band or spring, or similar device, and includes compressed air rifles, slingshots, bow and arrow, or any similar device; provided, however, that the term shall not include firearms as defined herein and/or as defined in RCW 9.41.010 as the same now exists or may hereafter be amended.
(2) 
“Firearm”
includes, but is not limited to mean, any weapon or device capable of propelling a missile through the force of combustion or explosion of gunpowder or similar substance.

It is unlawful for any person to fire, shoot or discharge any firearm or dangerous weapon within the town limits of the town of Concrete; provided, that this prohibition does not apply to the discharge of firearms by law enforcement officers engaged in the performance of their official powers or duties.
This section shall not abridge the right of the individual guaranteed by Article I, Section 24 of the State Constitution to bear arms in defense of self or others or the rights guaranteed under the RCW.
The Skagit County sheriff is specifically authorized and empowered to enforce any section of this chapter in Skagit County district court.

Any person violating any of the provisions of this chapter shall be guilty of a gross misdemeanor and the weapon used in the violation may be confiscated and shall only be returned by order of the court having jurisdiction.
Any person convicted for violating any provisions of the chapter shall be punished by a fine of $500.00 for the first offense; $1,000 for the second offense; and $2,000 for each offense thereafter; together with a jail sentence as the court shall provide.
