It shall be unlawful for the directing officer or the operator of any
railroad train to direct the operation of or to operate the same in such a
manner as to prevent the use of any street for purposes of travel for a period
of time longer than five minutes, except that this provision shall not apply
to trains or cars in motion other than those engaged in switching.
Any person committing an offense against any provision of this chapter
shall be guilty of a violation punishable as follows: by imprisonment for
a term not exceeding 15 days or by a fine not exceeding $250, or by both such
fine and imprisonment. The continuation of an offense against the provisions
of this chapter shall constitute, for each day the offense is continued, a
separate and distinct offense hereunder.
