The provisions of this article shall apply except
when it is necessary to stop a vehicle to avoid conflict with other
traffic or in compliance with the directions of a police officer or
official traffic control device.
Except where angle parking is authorized, every
vehicle stopped, standing or parked upon a highway shall be so stopped,
standing or parked parallel with the edge of the roadway, headed in
the direction of lawful traffic.

A. The power is hereby delegated to the Commissioner
of Police, by official order, rule or regulation, to prohibit the
parking of vehicles in such locations as he in his discretion may
deem necessary.
B. The power is hereby delegated to the Commissioner
of Police, by official order, rule or regulation, to permit parking
on any streets in the City of Hudson between the hours of 1:00 a.m.
and 7:00 a.m., upon such terms and conditions as he may deem advisable,
and the present system of alternate parking is hereby abolished.
The parking of vehicles is hereby prohibited,
except for designated vehicles, in such street locations as are assigned
by the Commissioner of Police and marked with appropriate signs for
the use of funeral vehicles, taxicabs, buses, doctors' and nurses'
vehicles, ambulances, municipal vehicles, loading and unloading trucks
and matters of a similar nature.

A. The parking of vehicles is hereby prohibited, except
for those vehicles operated by a handicapped person or within which
a handicapped person is a passenger, in such locations within municipal
parking lots as are assigned by the Commissioner of Police and marked
with appropriate signs for the use of said handicapped persons.

B. The power is hereby delegated to the Commissioner
of Police by official order, rule or regulation to prohibit the parking
of vehicles in such locations, except as to those vehicles hereinabove
mentioned, as he in his discretion may deem necessary.
C. For the purpose of this section, a "handicapped person"
shall be one to whom a handicapped parking permit has been issued
by any person authorized by a municipality in the State of New York
pursuant to the guidelines for determining eligibility for handicapped
parking permits as they are established by the Office of the Advocate
for the Disabled for the State of New York in furtherance of § 1203-a
of the Vehicle and Traffic Law of the State of New York.

The parking of any vehicle between the hours
of 2:00 a.m. and 5:00 a.m. within the parking lots located on the
west side of South Front Street and adjacent to the north and south
sides of the Amtrak railway station in the City of Hudson is hereby
prohibited.

A. It shall be the duty of police officers or parking
enforcement officers of the City of Hudson, New York, acting in accordance
with instructions issued by the Chief of Police, to issue and file
with the City of Hudson Parking Violations Bureau a simplified information
with regard to any vehicle that is or has been parked or is standing
in violation of any of the provisions of this article.
B. Each such police officer or parking enforcement officer
shall also place on such vehicle:
(1) A
notice to the owner or operator thereof that such vehicle has been
parked or has been standing in violation of the provisions of this
article; and
(2) An
appearance ticket requiring such owner or operator to appear before
the City of Hudson Parking Violations Bureau with respect to such
violation upon a date and time therein specified.
