A.
Except as otherwise indicated by this section, every person convicted of a traffic infraction for a violation of any provision of this chapter which is not a violation of any provision of the Vehicle and Traffic Law of the State of New York shall, for a first conviction thereof, be punished by a fine of not more than $50 or by imprisonment for not more than 15 days, or by both such fine and imprisonment; for a second such conviction within 18 months thereafter, such person shall be punished by a fine of not more than $100 or by imprisonment for not more than 45 days, or by both such fine and imprisonment; upon a third or subsequent conviction within 18 months after the first conviction, such person shall be punished by a fine of not more than $250 or by imprisonment for not more than 90 days, or by both such fine and imprisonment.
B.
Every person convicted of violating any Village parking restriction or any parking restriction of the New York State Vehicle and Traffic Law shall pay a fine in the amount of $50 per violation, unless such violation may be described as parking in a tow-away zone, blocking a driveway, blocking a fire hydrant or parking in a crosswalk, in which case such person shall pay a fine of $100. Notwithstanding the foregoing, every person convicted of violating § 174-20.1A shall pay a fine in the amount set forth in § 174-20.1C.
