Whenever any of the following words are used
in this article, they shall have the respective meanings as follows:
CHAINS
Full chains, strap chains or other types of chains mounted
on the rear wheels (or the front wheels of a front wheel drive) of
a motorized vehicle.
EMERGENCY COORDINATOR
Any Township employee designated from time to time by the
Township Manager as the Emergency Coordinator.
SNOW
Any precipitation depositing any accumulation of snow, sleet,
hail, ice or freezing rain on the streets of the Township.
SNOW EMERGENCY
A state of highway conditions that are hazardous and dangerous
to vehicular and pedestrian traffic and so declared by the Emergency
Coordinator.
SNOW TIRES
Tires having treads designed for use in snow, which tires
must be in such condition as to serve the purpose for which they are
designed.
VEHICLES
All self-propelled motorized vehicles using Township streets
and highways, including taxicabs, but excluding other public transportation
conveyances.
Between November 1 and March 31 of each and every calendar year, no vehicle shall be parked on the odd numbered, postal address side of any street or road in the Township when snow, as defined in §
138-27, starts to fall, unless there shall be no off-street parking available at or within 300 feet of the residence property owned, occupied, used or visited by the operator or possessor of such vehicle or business establishment.
No person shall deposit snow, as defined in §
138-27, or have snow deposited, upon any street or road in the Township.
Any person who shall violate any provision of
this article shall, upon conviction thereof, be sentenced to pay a
fine of not more than $50, plus costs of prosecution.
