It is the intent and purpose of this chapter to protect the health, safety and welfare of those engaged in recreational pursuits, as it applies to the use of public recreational facilities owned and/or supervised by the Town of Bedford.
Use of all such public recreational facilities shall be limited to the daylight hours unless special permission is granted by the Recreation Department or for an activity sponsored by the Recreation Department.
A speed limit of ten (10) miles per hour shall be the maximum speed allowable in such public recreational facilities.
Parking in such public recreational facilities is permitted only in those areas so designated. Parking in areas not so designated is prohibited.
The use of all engine-powered devices, i.e., minibikes, go-carts, snowmobiles, etc., is prohibited in such public recreational facilities. This does not apply to vehicles used in a normal flow of traffic on prescribed roadways or parking areas.

The use of alcoholic beverages in and on such public recreational facilities is prohibited unless a permit for the use of same has been granted by the Recreation Department.
Littering, destroying or defacing property in or on such public recreational facilities is prohibited.
All hunting and carrying of firearms on all such public recreational facilities is prohibited.
Behavior which causes public inconvenience, annoyance or harm restricting the enjoyment of such public recreational facilities or which restricts the enjoyment of recreation activities is prohibited.
Any attempt to defraud the Town of Bedford in the use of such public recreational facilities may result in loss of park privileges and/or prosecution hereunder.

A. 
Such public recreational facilities are provided for the sole use and enjoyment of residents of the Town of Bedford and their duly sponsored guests, and use by others is prohibited.
B. 
As used in this chapter, the following terms shall have the meanings indicated:
RESIDENT
One who owns and occupies as a permanent residence, or rents as a tenant in possession and occupies as a permanent residence, all or part of a fixed residential structure to which he or she, wherever temporarily located, always intends to return.
RESIDENTIAL FAMILY
The immediate family of a resident, same being a husband or wife; children, residing with a resident, under the age of twenty-one (21) years, with the exception of those children over the age of twenty-one (21) years residing with a resident who are enrolled as full-time students at a college or university.
C. 
Any person issued under this chapter is personal to the recipient thereof and is nontransferable.

Any person being found guilty of a violation of this chapter shall be guilty of a violation and shall be subject to a fine not to exceed two hundred fifty dollars ($250.) or imprisonment not to exceed fifteen (15) days, or both.
