City of Haverhill, MA Chapter 113 Bicycles

§ 113-1 Applicability.

This chapter shall apply only to a bicycle at least one wheel of which exceeds 20 inches in diameter.[1]

§ 113-2 Obedience to traffic rules required.

All bicycle operators shall conform to traffic rules and regulations.

§ 113-3 Excess riders prohibited.

No operator of a bicycle shall permit any person in excess of the number for which such bicycle is designated and equipped to ride thereon.

§ 113-4 Rear reflector required.

Every bicycle shall be equipped with a red reflector visible from the rear and at least two inches in diameter.

§ 113-5 Violations and penalties.

Violation of any of the provisions of this chapter shall be punished by a fine of $1.

§ 113-6 Impoundment of bicycle of minor.

If a minor violates the bicycle law, the police, instead of prosecuting in court, may, with the consent of the parent, impound such bicycle for a period not exceeding 15 days.
