The Township Senior Citizen Advisory Committee, heretofore created by resolution, is continued with the functions and duties as prescribed. The Council shall appoint the members of the Committee, who shall serve without compensation.

The Mayor and Township Council shall appoint the following representatives:

The following shall be ex officio. The employee of the Franklin Township Parks and Recreation Department responsible for senior citizen programming shall be its representative. The Parks and Recreation Department Program Coordinator shall serve as alternate.

Each representative shall be entitled to one vote; alternates may vote only when the person whom they represent is absent.
E.
Each representative and alternate shall serve for a term of one year beginning February 1. Members shall serve for their respective terms and until their successors thereafter have been appointed and qualified.
F.
Mayor and Council appointees shall serve for a term of one year beginning January 1.

A quorum shall be a simple majority of all members.

Copies of all correspondence, agendas and minutes shall be submitted to the Township Clerk.
D.
The Mayor/Council appointee shall keep the Mayor and Council informed.

The favorable vote of a majority of the members present shall be required to carry a motion.

The Senior Citizens Advisory Committee shall have the following functions:

In pursuing these functions, the Committee may investigate and research:
(1)
Subsidies, grants and/or other aid available from the federal government, the State of New Jersey, the County of Somerset, and nongovernmental sources such as private individuals, corporations, foundations, etc.
(2)
Programs, services, facilities and activities of benefit to Franklin Township senior citizens.
