As used in this chapter, the following terms shall have the
meanings indicated:
PLUMBING WORK
Includes all necessary equipment and labor to provide a properly
installed system of piping and plumbing fixtures, appropriate to the
size and class of the building under consideration, supplied with
hot and cold water in adequate volume and pressure for cooking, laundering,
bathing and toilet purposes and to provide a water-carriage sewage
system for the safe disposal of wastes from fixtures and installed
in a manner to provide healthful and sanitary living conditions.

All plumbing work shall be installed in accordance with the provisions of Chapter
223, Building Construction, and Chapter
271, Zoning, of the Code of the Village, as now or hereafter amended.
All plumbing work as defined in this chapter shall be installed
by plumbers duly licensed by the Village.
A separate fee for plumbing work shall be paid in connection
with the construction of a new building, but the cost thereof shall
be included in determining the fee for the issuance of a building
permit.
Plumbers licensed by the Village shall be registered, and a
register thereof shall be kept in the office of the Village Clerk.
Plumbers licensed by the Village may also be required to execute
a bond to the Village in an amount to be fixed by the Board of Trustees
of the Village, not to exceed $500, for the execution and completion
of any and all work undertaken by such plumbers within the corporate
limits of the Village in a manner satisfactory to the Village Building
Inspector.
It shall be unlawful for any person without a license previously
issued by the Village to such person or to his or her employer or
supervisor to install any plumbing or plumbing fixtures or equipment
in or upon any property, buildings or structures located in whole
or in part within the Village, other than upon property, buildings
or structures owned by such person.
The license required by this chapter may be issued to any applicant
passing a practical and theoretical test as to his or her knowledge
of standard plumbing practices, or, in lieu thereof, such applicant
must exhibit evidence of having been duly licensed by any city, town
or Village of the first class in the State of New York.
The fee for a license required by this chapter and any renewal
thereof shall be payable to the Village and shall be in such amount
as provided for in the ordinances of the Village.
Every license required by this chapter shall be in writing and
shall be issued by the Village Clerk.
Every license issued under this chapter shall expire on December
31 of the calendar year in which issued.

A violation of this chapter shall, upon conviction, be punishable as provided in Chapter
1, General Provisions, Article
III.
