No person shall give any exhibition or performance for hire, present or conduct any carnival, circus, carousel, merry-go-round or any open-air show or exhibit of any kind without first having obtained a license therefor in accordance with this chapter and Chapter 171 of this Code permitting such performance or exhibition on a specified location.

The applicant for a license required by this chapter shall file with the application a certificate of public liability insurance covering the applicant and the Village for personal injuries to any person and property damage each in sums set from time to time by resolution of the Village Board of Trustees;[1] which shall be approved as to form and sufficiency by the Corporation Counsel and by procuring necessary permits that may be required by the Board of Health of the county.

The fees for the license required by this chapter shall be set from time to time by resolution of the Village Board of Trustees.[1]

The provisions of this chapter shall not be construed to apply to halls, buildings and theaters; nor to concerts or bazaars for money given or held by or under the auspices of any church or Sabbath school in the Village for the benefit of such church or Sabbath school.
