A.
The Council on Aging shall consist of 15 members who shall be appointed by the Mayor and confirmed by the City Council.

B.
All members shall be citizens of the City of Chicopee and shall serve without compensation. These members shall be fitted by education, training and experience to perform the duties of the office.

C.
The Council on Aging shall be appointed such that the terms of five members shall expire every year. In order to achieve that schedule, the following appointments shall be made:

(1)
For terms that expire in June 2001: two members shall be appointed to three-year terms thus expiring in 2004. Five members shall be appointed to two-year terms thus expiring in 2003.
(2)
For terms that expire in June 2002: five members shall be appointed to three-year terms thus expiring in 2005. Two members shall be appointed to two-year terms thus expiring in 2004.
(3)
All subsequent appointments to the Council on Aging shall be for three-year terms.
D.
Vacancies shall be filled to complete the remainder of the three-year term.
