The President of the Board of Commissioners is hereby authorized to execute an agreement on behalf of the Township of Lower Merion, Montgomery County, Pennsylvania, with the Borough of Narberth, Montgomery County, Pennsylvania, for the purposes and objectives as hereinafter set forth.

The agreement shall become effective on January 1, 1981, and shall be for a term of three years; and with the additional condition that unless either of the parties thereto shall at least 30 days before the expiration of the term of the agreement give written notice of an intention to terminate the agreement at the expiration of said term, then and in that case the agreement shall be renewed and extended, for a further period of one year, subject to all the terms and conditions therein contained, and subject to any amendments to the agreement; and so on from year to year, unless and until either party thereto shall give to the other 30 days' written notice of an intention to terminate the agreement at the expiration of the then current term. The township shall have the right to terminate the agreement at any time if the borough shall at any time decrease its police manpower level below its police manpower level which existed on January 1, 1977. A similar agreement dated November 16, 1977, is terminated as of midnight December 31, 1980.
The purpose and objectives of the agreement are for the furnishing of certain police, dog law and police communications services by the township for the borough and the furnishing of fire protection service by the borough in that portion of the Narberth Fire District located within the township.
The borough shall pay yearly to the township, for police, dog law and communications services, certain sums of money as set forth in the agreement. All payments shall be made from the tax revenues of the borough.
No special organizational structure is necessary to implement the agreement, and it is not necessary to specially acquire, manage or dispose of real or personal property.
