A. 
Thirty miles per hour is hereby established as the maximum speed at which vehicles may proceed on or along streets and highways within the corporate limits of this Village except on the following streets or highways:
(1) 
Heather Drive for 300 feet in either direction of the Cherry Lane Elementary School.
B. 
Fifteen miles per hour is hereby established as the maximum speed at which vehicles may proceed within corporate limits of this Village on Heather Drive from 300 feet in either direction of the Cherry Lane Elementary School.
Pursuant to authority granted under the Village Law of the State of New York and/or Chapter 37, Law Enforcement, Article I, Authorization of Town Police Department, of the Code of the Village of Airmont, the Town of Ramapo Police Department, the Rockland County Sheriff's Department, and the New York State Police are hereby authorized and empowered to enforce this article, issue any and all summonses or appearance tickets, and seek any resulting fine or penalty in connection therewith under any provision of this article.
Any violations of this article shall be punishable by a fine of not more than $250 or by imprisonment for not more than 15 days in the Rockland County Jail, or by both such fine and imprisonment; and in the event of failure to pay any fine imposed hereunder, imprisonment in the Rockland County Jail not exceeding one day for each dollar of the fine imposed.
