The music shell on Veteran's Field was erected and donated as a gift to the Village of Ridgewood in memory of Frank Kasschau, a widely recognized choral conductor, organist and teacher. The music shell is named the "Frank Kasschau Memorial Shell." The shell is dedicated to and accepted for use by the citizens of the Village of Ridgewood as a place where summer programs of fine music and related artistic and cultural endeavors may be presented to the community in a setting of natural beauty.

The shell programs shall be conducted under the auspices and direction of the Frank Kasschau Memorial Shell Committee. The members of the Committee shall be appointed by the Village Council to serve at the pleasure of the Council. The programs shall be conducted in cooperation with the Department of Parks and Recreation of the Village and shall be scheduled in cooperation with and consideration of other municipal and school uses of the Veteran's Field. Subject to final approval thereof by resolution of the Village Council, the Kasschau Memorial Shell Committee is authorized to adopt reasonable rules and regulations concerning the use of the shell consistent with the purposes of dedication as herein set forth. The Village Council may by ordinance from time to time authorize such fees as are required to reimburse the Village for costs of maintenance, supervision and repair of the shell or of the field.[1]
