A local Board of Health in and for the Borough
is hereby established in accordance with N.J.S.A. 26:3-1.

A. The local Board of Health shall consist of seven members
who shall be appointed by the Mayor with the advice and consent of
the Council. Such members of the Board shall hold office for terms
of three years.
B. If any vacancy shall occur in the Board by the death,
resignation or inability of any member to serve or from any other
cause, the appointment to fill such vacancy shall be made in the same
manner in which the original appointments are to be made, but for
the unexpired term only.
The local Board of Health shall elect a President
from among its members and shall adopt rules and regulations for its
government.

The local Board of Health shall appoint a local
Registrar of Vital Statistics, Clerk and Sanitary Inspector and may
appoint such other officers or assistants as it may deem necessary
or as may be provided by law.
The term of office of the local Registrar of
Vital Statistics shall be one year and until his successor has been
appointed and qualified, and any vacancy occurring in such office
shall be filled for the unexpired term only.
All appointees to the local Board of Health
shall be governed by the rules of the Board and be subject to all
laws, rules and regulations governing such officers, and they may
be removed for cause by the Board.
The Sanitary Inspector shall promptly report
to the local Board of Health every violation of the health ordinances
of the Borough, coming to his view or knowledge, and any police officer
or officers of the Borough when on duty shall serve as special sanitary
inspectors.
