As used in this article, the following terms
shall have the meanings herein ascribed to them:
BASE COURSE
The granular material placed on the subgrade.
DEDICATION ACCEPTANCE
The acceptance by the Village Board of transfer of the highway
to the Village of Skaneateles.
DIRECTOR OF PUBLIC WORKS
The Village of Skaneateles Director of Public Works or his
duly appointed agent.

FINAL ACCEPTANCE
Written approval by the Director of Public Works of the completed
construction.

FINE GRADE
Grading to a tolerance of 1/2 inch in 10 feet.
NYSDOT SPECIFICATIONS
New York State Department of Transportation standard specifications
as adopted from time to time and addenda thereto issued to and including
the date of approval of plans for the highway construction.

RIGHT-OF-WAY
The total width of property to be deeded to the Village,
a minimum of 60 feet wide.
ROAD SECTION
The entire area disturbed for highway construction, from
top of slope to toe of slope, including ditches.
ROADWAY
That portion of the highway included between the outside
edges of the pavement or inside curbing.
SUBGRADE
The bottom of the granular base material.
TESTS
All tests, cores and inspections mentioned in this article
shall be performed without cost to the Village of Skaneateles and
written results of the same shall be filed with the Village.
TOP COURSE
The granular material placed on the base course.
All areas beyond the base course which have
been disturbed by the construction shall be prepared and seeded (including
fertilizing) according to NYSDOT Specifications Section 610. Plantings,
if specified on the approved plans, shall be accomplished according
to NYSDOT Specifications Section 611 unless otherwise specified.
A street, in order to be generally acceptable
for a Village street, must be:
A. Spacious, with a minimum width of 60 feet, with curbing.
B. Properly planned and constructed.
C. Equipped with adequate draining facilities, including
catch basins and surface water sewers, properly located.
D. Equipped with adequate sanitary sewers, properly located.
E. Equipped with an adequate water supply system, for
water distribution and consumption, and fire protection with hydrants.
