No person, firm, company or corporation shall erect or use any pole in the streets, sidewalks, parks or public places of the Town of DeWitt or extend any wire in or across any street, sidewalk, park or public place of the Town of DeWitt for the purpose of cable transmission of television signals without first securing a franchise or permit therefor from the Town Board of the Town of DeWitt in accordance with the requirements of Subdivision 7 of § 64 of the Town Law.

A violation of this chapter shall be an offense punishable by a fine not exceeding five hundred dollars ($500.) or by imprisonment for a period not to exceed ten (10) days, or both. Each week's continued violation shall constitute a separate, additional violation. In addition, the Town Board shall have such other remedies as are provided by law to enforce the provisions of this chapter.
