Whenever a claim is filed against the Town of Union in an amount (exclusive of interest) claimed not in excess of $500, the Small Claims Settlement Board of the Town of Union may compromise and settle such claim without prior Town Board approval.

The Small Claims Settlement Board of the Town of Union shall consist of the Town Attorney, the Town Comptroller and Supervisor or Chairman of the Town Board Finance Committee.
The Town Board may, by resolution, increase the amount that may be compromised and/or settled by the Small Claims Settlement Board of the Town of Union and may, from time to time, prescribe rules of procedure for the Small Claims Settlement Board of the Town of Union.
