It shall be unlawful for any person, other than an agent or employee
of the Brick Township Municipal Utilities Authority, the Board of Fire Commissioners,
a volunteer fire company or the Township of Brick, when acting in their capacities
as employees or agents, to open, use or in any way tamper with any fire hydrant
in the Township of Brick without express written permission for such activity
from a duly authorized representative of the Brick Township Municipal Utilities
Authority or the Board of Fire Commissioners of the Township of Brick.

The owner or owners of any real property in the Township upon which
any fire hydrant is or shall be located shall maintain the area within a three-foot
radius of the perimeter of any such fire hydrant free of snow or any weeds,
shrubbery or other vegetation, as well as any fence, posts, poles or other
structures which shall in any manner obstruct or hinder access to any such
hydrant for purposes of fire protection.

Any person, firm or corporation who shall violate any provision of this chapter shall be subject to the penalties as provided in Chapter
1, §
1-15, General penalty, for each such violation.
