A. 
Whereas, at the election held on November 6, 1962, there was submitted to the voters of the Borough of Clementon, hereinafter referred to as "said municipality," the question of whether or not said municipality should adopt the provisions of the Civil Service Act of the State of New Jersey, and said adoption was duly approved and authorized by a majority of the voters of said municipality at said election; and
B. 
Whereas, immediately thereafter the Civil Service Commission of the State of New Jersey made a survey of all municipal officers and employees, covering the duties, salaries and respective departments of said employees, of said municipality; and
C. 
Whereas, following such a survey, the Civil Service Commission has submitted to the governing body of the said municipality, three separate and distinct schedules, as follows:
(1) 
Schedule 1, being a list of employees of said municipality giving the class, jurisdiction, service and division to which the position occupied by each employee has been allocated;
(2) 
Schedule 2, being a specification for each class established by the aforesaid survey, including a definition of the class, its distinguishing characteristics, examples of work and the requirements to be applied for recruitment to the class; and
(3) 
Schedule 3, being an alphabetical list of positions, showing divisional classification, proposed salary range for full-time positions and annual increment; an alphabetical list of part-time positions in classified service; a schematic arrangement of full-time positions in classified service; a list of full-time positions in descending order showing proposed salary ranges divided into increments; and an alphabetical list of titles in unclassified service with statutory or other provisions placing position in unclassified service; and
(4) 
Appendix, being the recommended rules for the installation and administration of civil service procedures in and for the said municipality;
D. 
Now, therefore, be it ordained by the Borough of Clementon in and for the Borough of Clementon, Camden County, in the State of New Jersey:

The schedules referred to herein showing the titles of Mayor, Councilpersons (6), Borough Clerk, Deputy Borough Clerk, Municipal Improvement Search Clerk (part-time), Tax Collector, Tax Search Clerk (part-time), Municipal Judge, Prosecutor (part-time), Solicitor (part-time), Engineer (part-time), Zoning Officer (part-time), Police Chief, Police Lieutenant, Police Sergeants, Police Officers, Police Officer (part-time), Special Officer (part-time), School Traffic Guards (part-time), Building Inspector (part-time), Public Works Laborer, Physician (Board of Health, part-time), Registrar of Vital Statistics (part-time), Deputy Registrar of Vital Statistics (part-time), Construction Official (part-time), Construction Official Secretary (part-time), Water Superintendent, Water Repairer, Clerks, Certified Financial Officer, Administrative Clerk, Administrative Secretary (part-time), Tax Assessor (part-time), Senior Clerk Typist, Police Matrons (part-time), Court Administrator, Deputy Court Administrator, Public Defender (part-time), Solicitor (Planning/Zoning Board, part-time), Fire Chief (part-time), Assistant Fire Chief (part-time), Office of Emergency Management Coordinator, Fire Safety Inspector (part-time), Fire Safety Inspector Deputy (part-time), Building Subcode Official, Construction Code Official, Fire Inspector (part-time), Plumbing Inspector (part-time), Electrical Inspector (part-time), Code Enforcement Officer (part-time), Code Enforcement Officer, Librarian Assistant (part-time), Director of Public Works, Supervisor of Public Works, Sewer Superintendent, Supervising Public Works Inspector, Senior Public Works Repaired/Auto Mechanic, Senior Public Works Repairer, Road Repairer, Public Works Repairer, Public Works Laborer (part-time), Housing Inspector (part-time), be and they are hereby made part of this article, and the aforesaid schedules shall be filed with the Clerk of said municipality coincident with the passage of this article, and all ordinances or parts of ordinances inconsistent herewith be and the same are hereby repealed.
This article shall take effect immediately upon its passage, publication and approval as provided by law.[1]
