No person shall place any bridging over any
gutter or any pipe or other obstruction in any gutter without first
obtaining permission in writing from the Superintendent of Public
Works.
No person shall place or maintain any drop awning
extending over any sidewalk which, when lowered, shall be left at
seven feet above the sidewalk.
Temporary awnings may be erected across the
sidewalk and permitted to remain for a period not exceeding 24 hours,
provided that they are securely fastened and so arranged as to permit
travel along the sidewalk.
No person shall cut through or lower the curb or change the grade of a sidewalk for the purpose of making a driveway without obtaining a permit from the Superintendent of Public Works. The fee for such a permit, the manner of obtaining it, and the manner of conducting the work shall be the same as provided in Article
VII, Construction and Repair of Curbs and Sidewalks, for the construction of sidewalks.
