The purpose of this article is to prohibit the consumption of alcoholic beverages within the parks of the Village of East Rockaway so as to prevent the public nuisance, vandalism and disorderly conduct which results from the consumption of alcoholic beverages.
The consumption of any alcoholic beverage shall be prohibited on the grounds of any park owned or maintained by the Village of East Rockaway, without regard to time.

Any person who violates the provisions of this article shall be subject to a fine not in excess of $250 for each offense.
Any person having a bottle, can or container in which there is an alcoholic beverage shall be presumed to be in violation of this article.
Upon application to the Board of Trustees, any person, group, organization or entity may apply for a special permit waiving the requirements of this article. Such use shall be permitted only upon permission having been granted by the Board of Trustees, with whatever restrictions the Board shall deem advisable.
