The purpose of this article is to protect the
person and property of persons using the highways and bridges of the
Town of Pawling as well as to protect the integrity and extend the
useful life of the highways and bridges of said Town.
The words "operate," "vehicle," "park" and "violations"
as used herein shall have the meanings as defined in the Vehicle and
Traffic Law of the State of New York.
It shall be unlawful for any person to operate
or park any vehicle whose weight, either laden or unladen, is in excess
of three tons (6,000 pounds) upon the following highways in the Town
of Pawling:
A. That portion of Kitchen Road in the Town of Pawling
extending in a westerly direction from a point marked by the intersection
of said Kitchen Road and New York State Route 22, a distance of approximately
1,629 feet, to the line marking the boundary between the Town of Pawling
and the Town of Dover.
Any person or owner of any vehicle who shall
violate this article is guilty of a violation and subject to the punishment
under the Penal Law of the State of New York in such cases made and
provided.
