The Town of Pawling is hereby divided into the following districts:

Where districts are referred to as "more restrictive" or "less restrictive," the designation shall refer to the order in which the districts are named above, the first named being the most restrictive, and so on, except where otherwise indicated in this chapter.
Said districts are bounded as shown on a map entitled "Zoning Map — Town of Pawling," which accompanies, with any explanatory matter thereon, and is made part of this chapter.[1] The original Zoning Map is on file with the Town Clerk, from whom copies may be obtained, together with word descriptions of districts.

A. 
District boundary lines are intended to follow streets, rights-of-way, watercourses or lot lines or to be parallel or perpendicular thereto, unless such district boundary lines are fixed by dimensions as shown on the Zoning Map.
B. 
Where a district boundary divides a lot, the location of any such boundary, unless the same is indicated by dimensions shown on said map, shall be determined by the use of the map scale shown thereon.
C. 
Where district boundaries are indicated as following approximately streets, rights-of-way, bodies of water or watercourses, the center lines thereof shall be construed to be such boundaries.
D. 
If the district classification of any land is in question, it shall be deemed to be in the most restrictive adjoining district.
