The elected officials of the Village shall be
the Village President and six Trustees.
A. The President shall be elected in odd-numbered years
for a two-year term.
B. The Trustees shall serve two-year terms with three
elected each year.
Pursuant to §§ 61.195, 61.197
and 66.0101, Wis. Stats., the Village of Maple Bluff hereby elects
not to be governed by those portions of §§ 61.29, 61.23
and 61.25(2), Wis. Stats., which relate to the selection and tenure
of the Assessor, Clerk, Constable and Treasurer and which are in conflict
with this section. After January 1, 1943, instead of being elected
as provided in § 61.19, Wis. Stats., the Assessor, Clerk,
Constable and Treasurer of the Village of Maple Bluff shall be appointed
by vote of 2/3 of the members-elect of the Village Board. The Assessor,
Clerk, Constable and Treasurer shall each hold office for indefinite
term, subject to removal as provided by law. This section shall not
in any way affect the right of any person holding any of the aforementioned
offices, either at the time of the passage of this section or at the
time it takes effect, to complete his term of office.

B. Pursuant to § 61.195, Wis. Stats., the Village
may proceed pursuant to § 66.0101, Wis. Stats., to consolidate
offices provided in this chapter and combine the duties thereof in
one position. Any combined appointment shall be made by the Village
President subject to approval of 2/3 of the Village Board of Trustees.
Elected and appointed officials shall take and
file the official oath within five days after notice of their election
or appointment as provided in § 61.21, Wis. Stats., and
shall execute and file the official bond as required by state statutes
and this Municipal Code.
The salaries of all elected and appointed officials,
including members of boards and commissions, shall be as determined
by the Village Board from time to time, provided that the salary of
the President and members of the Board shall not be increased during
their terms of office. (See § 66.0505, Wis. Stats.)

The Village Board does approve the selection
of alternate and/or two sets of election officials to staff the polls
on election day.
