It shall be unlawful for any person 15 years of age and under to be
or remain upon any street or alley or other public place in the Village from
10:00 p.m. to 5:00 a.m. on weeknights, Sunday through Thursday, and from 11:00
p.m. to 5:00 a.m. weekends, Friday and Saturday. It shall be unlawful for
any person from age 16 years of age up to 18 years of age to be or remain
upon any street or alley or other public place in the Village from 11:00 p.m.
to 5:00 a.m. on weeknights, Sunday through Thursday, and from 12:00 a.m. to
5:00 a.m. weekends, Friday and Saturday.
It shall be unlawful for any parent, guardian or other adult to allow, permit or otherwise contribute to a violation of curfew as described in §
106-1, except as stated in §
106-3.
When a youth is making a legitimate errand for a parent/guardian, traveling to/from work, school, or other civic functions, and in other instances at the discretion of law enforcement, he or she may be excepted from the curfew requirements of §
106-1.
Every member of the police force while on duty is hereby authorized to detain any such minor willfully violating the provisions of §
106-1 until the parent or guardian of the child shall take him or her into custody, but such officer shall immediately upon taking custody of the child communicate with the parent or guardian.
Violations of this chapter shall be subject to the general penalty in Chapter
1, §
1-4.
