A. 
This article is meant to complement and clarify the standards for review of accessory buildings, including garden sheds, outbuildings, and boathouses.
B. 
As a matter of public policy, the design, appearance, beauty and aesthetics of all public and private buildings, structures, landscaping, and open areas are a matter of public concern and as such must be controlled so as to promote the general welfare of the community.
The Building Board shall hear and approve or deny all applicants' requests to construct, modify, or replace accessory buildings. Review of accessory buildings shall be subject to the same procedures, filing, and notice requirements set forth in Article V.
A. 
Design review shall be on a case-by-case basis and will consider the following factors:
(1) 
Proposed siting of the building and its relationship to existing structures.
(2) 
Visibility of the building from neighboring properties and public lands.
(3) 
Proposed design, material, and finish.
B. 
Accessory buildings shall harmonize with existing residential structures in terms of exterior building materials and finish. Accessory buildings to residential structures shall be consistent with the design of the primary residence in terms of architectural style, proportion, level of detail, materials, and finish.
Accessory buildings shall be landscaped consistent with the landscape design of the primary residence.
