For the purpose of this chapter, the Town of Boonton is hereby divided into zone districts known as:

The map entitled "Zone Map, Town of Boonton, Morris County, New Jersey," dated April 2006, and the Schedule of Requirements which accompany this article are hereby declared to be a part hereof.[1] (Refer to accompanying schedule.)

The zone boundary lines shown on the Zoning Map are intended to coincide with property lines, the center lines of streets, railroads or drainage courses as they existed at the time of adoption of this article, or they are designated on the Zoning Map by figures or dimensions. In case of uncertainty as to the location of any zone boundary line, the determination thereof shall be with the Planning Board.
A. 
This section shall be enforced by the Construction Official, who shall in no case, except under a written order of the Board of Aldermen, issue any permit for the erection or structural alteration of any building, nor grant any occupancy permit for any building or land where the proposed erection, structural alteration, or use thereof would be in violation of any of the provisions of this chapter. It shall be the further duty of the Construction Official to investigate any violations of this chapter coming to his attention whether by complaint or arising from his own personal knowledge, and if a violation is found to exist, he shall serve notice upon the owner notifying the Board of Aldermen who shall take such action as they deem appropriate in the circumstances.
B. 
It shall also be the duty of the Construction Official to keep a record of all applications for building permits issued, with a notation of all special conditions involved. He shall file and safely keep copies of all plans and specifications submitted with such applications, and the same shall form a part of the records of his office and shall be available to the Mayor and Board of Aldermen and all other officials of the Town.
