No person shall operate or maintain any theater or motion-picture house
or building in which any theatrical performance or motion picture shall be
given or shown without obtaining a license therefor.
Any person holding a license issued pursuant to this chapter shall designate
a certain number of rows of seats on the main or first floor of the theater
for the use of children under the age of 16 years who are not accompanied
by a parent, guardian or other adult. Such area shall be designated by appropriate
signs, being at least 16 inches by 16 inches with the words "children's section"
in large letters conspicuously posted thereon. The children's section shall
be placed as closely as possible to the nearest exit.
It shall be the duty of a licensee pursuant to this chapter to furnish
a competent attendant to directly supervise the children's section; such attendant
shall be licensed by the Village, and while on duty the attendant shall wear
a badge, uniform or other identifying insignia approved by the Board of Trustees.
Nothing in this chapter shall be construed as preventing any child accompanied
by a parent, guardian or other adult from occupying a seat in any other portion
of the theater than that designated as the children's section.
