In a Business A District, the following uses
are permitted:
A. Retail store.

D. Restaurant/bar.

E. Barbershops and beauty shops.
G. Libraries, photographic studios and art galleries.
J. Tailor shops for custom work.
K. Hotels. Such accessory uses as are customarily incidental to a hotel, including but not limited to a restaurant, banquet hall, convention hall, cocktail lounge, all including accessory entertainment, health club, swimming pool and similar recreational facilities shall be permitted, except that as to any such accessory use where food or beverages are offered for sale for on- or off-premises consumption, or both, such accessory use may be conducted when authorized as a special exception by the Board of Zoning Appeals in accordance with the standards set forth in Article
XX of this chapter.

L. Motels, when authorized as a special exception by the Board of Zoning Appeals in accordance with the standards set forth in Article
XX, but in no event to exceed two stories in height.
N. Parking field businesses.
O. Accessory uses on the same lot with, and customarily
incidental to, any of the above-permitted uses. The aggregate floor
area of such accessory use shall not exceed twice the floor area of
the permitted principal use.
No internal combustion engine, or electric motor or motors exceeding a total of five horsepower (except electrical motors for air conditioning, heating or elevators), shall be used for power purposes, except as a special exception granted by the Board of Zoning Appeals in accordance with standards established in Article
XX.
No building shall exceed seven stories and 85
feet in height.
No story of any building shall be nearer the street on which it faces than five feet, except as provided for in
Appendix B, Special Building Setback Lines.
Each building shall have an unobstructed fire-rated
passage in a straight line from the rear yard to the street with a
width of four feet and a height of seven feet, except that a side
yard of not less than five feet will be accepted in lieu of a fire
passage. Where a building is divided, each subdivided area shall be
required to have direct and unobstructed access to said fire-rated
passage or side yard.
In a Business A District, the following uses
are prohibited:
C. Outdoor storage of any type or kind whatsoever, including
motor vehicles and other mechanized equipment.
D. Any use which may be noxious or offensive by reason
of the dissemination of smoke, steam, gas, dust, odor, radioactivity,
vapor, heat, vibration, light, noise or any other offensive, noxious
or deleterious by-product of the same.
E. Laundromat.

F. Hospital, sanitarium, clinic, substance abuse treatment
facility and other medical, dental, counseling or other health-related
facility, except the office of an individual or group engaged in the
private practice of medicine or dentistry, provided that such office,
including accessory areas does not exceed 1,000 square feet.

G. Pool table or billiard table in any place open to
the public.
