A. 
The office of Chief of Police of the Village of Wappingers Falls is hereby abolished.
B. 
The office of Police Commissioner for said village is hereby established. Such Commissioner shall be the head of the Village Police Department, subject, however, to the statutory supervision of the Mayor pursuant to § 4-400, Subdivision 1(e), of the Village Law.
Except as limited herein or by further action of the Board of Trustees, all of the functions, powers and duties previously performed by or vested in the Chief of Police of the village are assigned to the Commissioner of Police.
The office of Commissioner of Police, as herein established, shall be a part-time position, and the incumbent thereof shall work no more than fifty percent (50%) of the hours from time to time prescribed as a normal workweek by the Board of Trustees.
