In the event that the term of any officer or
any member of an appointive board, commission or similar body expires,
the officer or member shall continue to hold office after the expiration
of his or her term until his or her successor is appointed and qualified.
[Added 4-26-1977]
If any member of any board or commission is
absent from three consecutive regular meetings or any intervening
duly called special meeting of the board or commission of which he
or she is a member, the Chair of said board or commission shall, within
10 days, report in writing such absence to the appointing authority,
who shall, within 10 days of receiving said written notice, remove
the member from office pursuant to Chapter XIV, Section 6, of the
Charter. The requirements of this section may be waived by the appointing
authority where illness or other serious extenuating circumstances
make it impossible for a member to meet the foregoing attendance requirements.
