[Adopted 7-23-1969 as Ch. 68 of the 1969 Code]
There shall be and is hereby created the Street Numbering Committee of the Borough of Eatontown, to be composed of three members who shall be appointed by the Mayor and who shall hold office until January 1 next following their appointment.
It shall be the duty of the Street Numbering Committee to assign and reassign street numbers as follows:
A. 
No existing street number shall be changed unless it is determined by the Street Numbering Committee that the building designated is difficult to locate by the designation of its existing number.
B. 
Street numbers assigned or reassigned shall be as nearly as possible run from north to south and from east to west.
C. 
Street numbers shall be placed on the official tax map of the Borough of Eatontown and shall be utilized by the Tax Assessor to describe real property and for all other purposes as provided by law.
D. 
The Street Numbering Committee shall have the power to correct any errors they deem necessary in order to improve the systematic numbering of buildings.
E. 
As nearly as possible, numbers shall be allotted and assigned at the ratio of two per each 25 feet of street front.
F. 
No certificate of occupancy shall issue until a street number has been assigned.
G. 
Every homeowner, condominium owner and resident of the Borough of Eatontown shall be required to physically display the number of their residence either on the curb in front of their residence or on a noticeable and reasonably appropriate place on the front of the premises.

In the event that any property owner feels aggrieved by the assignment or reassignment of any street number, he shall have the right to appeal the decision to the governing body of the Borough of Eatontown, either in person or in writing, and a hearing shall be granted for the same. In the event of such appeal, the governing body shall grant a hearing, set forth their findings and arrive at a final determination of the appeal.
