A.
No person shall own, possess, harbor or have in custody any dog over six months of age unless such dog has been vaccinated by a duly licensed veterinarian of the State of New Jersey. A certificate of vaccination shall be issued to the owner of each animal vaccinated on a form recommended by the State. (See also Cat Licensing in Sections 68-51 — 68-56).

B.
Any dog may be exempted from the requirements of Subsection A of this section for a specific period of time upon presentation of a certificate from a duly licensed veterinarian stating that by reason of age, infirmity or other physical condition or regimen for therapy, the vaccination for such specified period of time is contraindicated.
C.
Nothing contained in this section shall be deemed to require the
vaccination of any dogs located in and confined to duly recognized
and licensed animal shelters, kennels, pet shops, dog pounds and the
like where cats and/or dogs are offered for sale.
D.
The State Department of Health shall promulgate regulations providing
for the recognized duration of immunity, interval of inoculation,
certificate of vaccination, certificate of exemption, and such other
related matters.

A.
Each person owning, harboring or having custody of a dog over six
months of age shall obtain from a licensed veterinarian a certificate
that the veterinarian has administered a rabies inoculation to the
dog.
B.
The person owning, harboring or having custody of the dog shall deliver
the certificate to the Health Department within 10 days after the
vaccination or within 10 days after bringing the dog into the Township
if the dog was vaccinated prior thereto. The Health Officer shall
file the certificate with the records of the Health Department.
No license required for the owning or keeping of dogs under any law of this State or ordinance of the Township shall be issued to any person unless the certificate required by § 68-33 is filed with the Health Department and shows that the vaccination is current within the licensing period.
The Health Officer is hereby authorized and empowered to provide
free vaccination of cats and dogs at a suitable clinic or place designated
by him/her, to be conducted by a veterinarian licensed by the State
of New Jersey
It shall be the duty of any person having knowledge of any dog
or cat or other animal within the Township infected with rabies or
suspected of being infected with rabies to forthwith notify the Department
of Health and, if possible, to give a description of the animal, the
location where it may be found and the name and address of the owner
or the person having custody thereof.
