GENERAL REFERENCES

A.
No person shall attach or shall cause or allow any of
his subordinates or employees to attach to any lamppost, telegraph or telephone
pole, hydrant or box covering the same, fire alarm box or upon any erection
or building upon any of the streets, avenues, lanes, alleys or public places
in the village any bills, notices, letters, pictures or characters of any
kind whatever, whether for the purpose of advertising any show, performance,
business or entertainment or otherwise, except legal notices.
B.
No person shall distribute or permit to be distributed
any handbills or circulars on any public street, avenue or sidewalk, provided,
however, that the same may be left within any building; or post or cause to
be posted any bill, card or advertisement other than a legal notice upon any
telephone, telegraph or electric light pole.
Any person violating any of the provisions of this chapter shall be
guilty of a violation and, upon conviction thereof, shall be punishable by
a fine not exceeding $250 for each offense or imprisonment not exceeding 15
days, or both such fine and imprisonment.
