[HISTORY: Adopted by the Borough Council of the Borough of Columbia 1-13-2003 by Ord. No. 715. Amendments noted where applicable.]
The Pennsylvania Municipalities Planning Code ("MPC") authorizes the Borough Council of the Borough of Columbia to prepare, adopt and amend the Official Map of the Borough of Columbia showing existing and proposed public streets, public grounds, public parks, playgrounds and open space reservations. The Borough Council has determined that the amendment of its Official Map will assist the Borough of Columbia in the implementation of its Comprehensive Plan and will assist land owners in the determination of uses and development of their lands within the Borough of Columbia. The Borough of Columbia has solicited reviews of the proposed amendment to its Official Map from the Borough of Columbia Planning Commission, the Lancaster County Planning Commission, the Board of Supervisors of West Hempfield Township, the West Hempfield Township Planning Commission, the Board of Supervisors of Manor Township, and the Manor Township Planning Commission. Following the receipt of the comments and recommendations of such bodies, Borough Council of the Borough of Columbia held a public hearing in accordance with the requirements of Article IV of the MPC.[1]

Borough Council of the Borough of Columbia hereby amends its Official Map by adopting and implementing in its place the map entitled "Columbia Borough Map prepared by ARRO Consulting, Inc."; and by adopting and incorporating the same, the same shall be considered the Official Map of the Borough of Columbia. A true and correct copy of said map is attached hereto as Exhibit A and incorporated herein.[1]

The proper officials of the Borough of Columbia are hereby authorized and directed to take all steps necessary to record the Official Map as amended hereby in the office of the Recorder of Deeds of Lancaster County, Pennsylvania, as required by Section 402(c) of the MPC.[1] The proper officials of the Borough of Columbia are further directed and authorized to transmit certified copies of the Official Map as amended to those entities required to be provided with copies pursuant to the MPC.

The Borough Council of the Borough of Columbia retains the right to amend the Official Map adopted by this chapter from time to time by appropriate action of Borough Council of the Borough of Columbia taken in accordance with the procedural requirements of the MPC as it may be hereinafter amended.
