The term "fireworks" as used within this chapter shall have the meaning and definition as used within § 167.10(1)(intro) and (1)(e), (f), (i), (j), (k), (l), (m) and (n), Wis. Stats. Any future amendments, revisions or modifications of the statutes set forth herein are intended to be a part of this chapter.
A. 
No person, firm, partnership, or corporation shall sell, offer for sale, display for sale, possess, use or discharge any fireworks or devices of like construction containing any explosives or inflammable compound, or any tablets or other device commonly used and sold as fireworks, or any compound containing any of the same, within the limits of the Village of Shorewood.
B. 
Nothing contained within this chapter shall prohibit:
(1) 
The use of fireworks for pyrotechnic displays given by civic organizations, or groups of individuals acting under the supervision of the Chief of Police, and after having obtained a written permit from the Village Clerk of the Village of Shorewood, nor shall this chapter prohibit the use of blank cartridges for theatrical purposes or for signal purposes in athletic contests, sport events or by railroads for signal purposes, or for the use by a law enforcement officer.
(2) 
The possession of fireworks within the Village limits for a period not to exceed 12 hours by those transporting fireworks to a city, town or village where the possession of the fireworks is authorized by permit or ordinance.
Except where a penalty is otherwise prescribed, the penalty for violation of any provision of this chapter shall be as set forth in § 115-1 of the Village Code.
