This chapter shall be known as "The West Brandywine
Township Park and Recreational Area Rules and Regulations Ordinance."
This chapter shall apply to any and all persons
within the limits of any park or recreational area owned or operated
by West Brandywine Township.
This chapter shall be enforced by the West Brandywine
Township Police Department.
The park and/or recreational areas shall be
open from sunrise to sunset, except by special permit.
The possession and/or use of alcoholic beverages
or illegal substances are prohibited. No person shall be intoxicated,
under the influence of illegal drugs, or use insulting, abusive, threatening,
or indecent language, fight or commit disorderly or immoral conduct
of any kind.
The dumping of trash and littering of any kind
is prohibited.

The possession of or discharge of any type of bow and arrow,
fireworks, sling shot, air gun or any other weapon within the limits
of the park is forbidden, exclusive of legally permitted firearms.
The discharge of firearms within the limits of the park is also forbidden,
unless discharged for the purpose of self-protection in a manner consistent
with state law, i.e., 18 Pa.C.S.A. § 505.
Pets shall be permitted within designated areas
of the park and recreational area and shall be kept on a leash at
all times. The pet owner will be responsible for cleanup and proper
disposal of pet waste.
There will be no hunting, chasing, capturing
or trapping of any wildlife.
It shall be unlawful for anyone to deface, mutilate,
abuse, destroy, mistreat, mark, write or paint upon anything in the
park whether natural or manmade.
The operation of motor vehicles is prohibited
within the park except in designated parking areas during normal hours
that the parking lots are open. Snowmobiles, dirt bikes, ATV's and
all other recreation vehicles are prohibited within the park.
If a certain area within the park has been reserved
by a group, that group shall have sole use of the designated reserved
area for the duration of such reservation.
Any person who violates the rules and regulations
stated herein shall be guilty of a summary offense and shall be sentenced
to pay a fine of not more than $600 and undergo imprisonment of not
more than 30 days, or both. All prosecutions shall be brought in the
name of the Township of West Brandywine and all fines shall be paid
to West Brandywine Township.
