Editor's Note: See 75 Pa.C.S.A. § 102.
The Board of Supervisors hereby declares that it has approved the use of speed-timing devices to aid in the enforcement of West Brandywine Township's speed restrictions.
[Amended 11-5-1986 by Ord. No. 86-05]
The types of speed-timing devices which can be used shall be electronic (nonradar) speed-timing devices which are approved by the department as provided in 75 Pa.C.S.A. § 3368 (the Vehicle Code). These are devices which measure elapsed time between two sensors, or which calculate average speed between any two points. For example and not by way of limitation, the Board of Supervisors specifically authorizes the use of the Speed Chek Model #1, manufactured by Blair Manufacturing Company for the Union Agency, Second Chance Acres, Unionville, Pennsylvania 19375, and the Vascar-Plus, manufactured by Traffic Safety Systems, Inc., 1904 Byrd Avenue, Richmond, Virginia. The above speed-timing devices were approved under the provisions of 75 Pa.C.S.A. § 3368(d) by the Department of Transportation on August 23, 1986.
The peace officers of West Brandywine Township are authorized and directed to use the approved speed-timing devices to aid in the enforcement of the Township's speed restrictions.[1]
