The keeping of wild or undomesticated animals
is prohibited in the following zoning districts: rural nonfarm residential
(RNF-1), suburban residential (RS-1), urban residential (RU-1), two-family
urban residential (RU-2), and multifamily residential (RM-1). Such
animals include, but are not limited to, opossum, raccoon, bears,
deer, moose, elk, turkeys, wild cats such as mountain lions, tigers,
leopards, panthers, ocelots, wolves, elephants, snakes, bees, peacocks
and other such wild game. The keeping of farm animals is also prohibited
in all residential districts.

Any person who violates this article shall be
guilty of a misdemeanor punishable by a fine of not more than $500
or imprisonment in the county jail for a period not exceeding 90 days,
or both fine and imprisonment.
The purpose of this article is to protect the
residents of the Township from encounters with and possible attacks
by exotic or wild animals and other nondomesticated species. The further
purpose of this article is to protect the environment from invasion
by undomesticated animals and other undomesticated species. This article
is deemed necessary to protect the residents from injury, disease
and death by reason of exotic species, and to protect domesticated
animals from injury, death or disease from exotic species. This article
is also intended to protect the grass, plants, trees and indigenous
species in residential districts from injury or disease by reason
of the existence of any exotic species being located in residential
districts.
