A. 
The City of Egg Harbor may hire a candidate who is exempt from the requirement to take a civil service examination for an entry-level law enforcement position, provided the candidate has successfully completed a full Basic Course for Police Officers Training at a school approved and authorized by the New Jersey Police Training Commission.
B. 
Nothing in this section shall be interpreted or construed to require the City of Egg Harbor to hire a candidate for entry-level law enforcement who is exempt from the requirement to take a civil service examination.
C. 
The City of Egg Harbor may waive residency requirements found in § 61-14 for entry-level law enforcement positions.
