Each building facing on any of the public streets shall display the address number for the building assigned by the Madison County 911 Office in Arabic numerals or alphabet letters at least four inches high with a minimum stroke width of 0.5 inch. Such building number shall contrast with the building background upon which it is mounted and shall be displayed in a position on the building to be plainly legible and visible from the street fronting the property.

Any person found guilty of a violation of this chapter shall be punishable by a fine not exceeding $250 or by imprisonment not exceeding 15 days, or by both such fine and imprisonment.
