19-3 and 19-4, of the 1972 Code]
It shall be unlawful for any person confined
in the City jail or other place of confinement by the City, or working
upon the streets or other public places of the City in pursuance of
any judgment, or otherwise held in legal custody by authority of the
City, to escape or attempt to escape from any such jail, prison or
custody.
It shall be unlawful for any person, in any
illegal manner, to set at liberty, rescue or attempt to set at liberty
or rescue any prisoner from any officer or employee of the City having
legal custody of such prisoner or from the City jail or other place
of confinement by the City, or to assist such prisoner in any manner
to escape from such prison or custody.
