[Adopted as Article 167 of the Codified Ordinances]
All members of the Bureau of Police, as defined by law, shall be required to resign as active members of the Bureau in accordance with the following schedule:
A. 
On July 1, 1957, all members who have attained the age of 65 years.
B. 
On July 1, 1958, all members who have attained the age of 64 years.
C. 
On July 1, 1959, all members who have attained the age of 63 years.
D. 
On July 1, 1960, all members who have attained the age of 62 years.
E. 
On July 1, 1961, all members who have attained the age of 61 years.
F. 
On July 1, 1962, and any date thereafter, all members who have attained the age of 60 years.
Any present member of the Bureau of Police who has completed 25 years of active service as such member and is a patrolman or sergeant at the time of his retirement shall receive a pension based on the lowest salary then prescribed for a Lieutenant, plus any longevity to which he shall be entitled to receive. This provision shall not apply to any person becoming a member of the Bureau after February 25, 1969.
