On-street parking shall be on both sides of the streets within the City of Pawtucket, 24 hours a day, except on those streets already permanently posted with parking regulations in accordance with existing ordinances.
A. 
Except as otherwise provided in this article, every vehicle stopped or parked upon a roadway where there are adjacent curbs shall be so stopped or parked with the right-hand wheels of such vehicle parallel to and within 12 inches of the right-hand curb.
B. 
Except as otherwise provided in this article, every vehicle stopped or parked upon a roadway where there are adjacent curbs and left-hand parking is permitted upon the roadway shall be so stopped or parked with the left-hand wheels of such vehicle parallel to and within 12 inches of the left-hand curb.
A. 
The Director of Public Works or his/her designee shall determine upon what streets angle parking shall be permitted and shall mark or sign such streets, but such angle parking shall not be indicated upon any federal-aid or state highway within this City unless the State Traffic Commission has determined by resolution or order entered in its minutes that the roadway is of sufficient width to permit angle parking without interfering with the free movement of traffic.
B. 
Angle parking shall not be indicated or permitted at any place where passing traffic would thereby be caused or required to drive upon the left side of the street.
C. 
On those streets which have been signed or marked by the Director of Public Works or his/her designee for angle parking, no person shall park or stand a vehicle other than at the angle to the curb or edge of the roadway indicated by such signs or markings.
A. 
No signs required. No person shall stop, stand or park a vehicle, except when necessary to avoid conflict with other traffic or in compliance with law or the directions of a police officer or traffic-control device, in any of the following places:
(1) 
On a sidewalk.
(2) 
In front of a public or private driveway.
(3) 
Within an intersection.
(4) 
Within 10 feet of a fire hydrant, fire alarm or police signal box.
(5) 
On a crosswalk.
(6) 
Within 20 feet of a crosswalk at an intersection.
(7) 
Within 30 feet upon the approach to any flashing beacon, stop sign or traffic-control signal located at the side of a roadway.
(8) 
Between a safety zone and the adjacent curb or within 30 feet of points on the curb immediately opposite the ends of a safety zone, unless the Director of Public Works or his/her designee indicates a different length by signs or markings.
(9) 
Within 50 feet of the nearest rail of a railroad crossing.
(10) 
Within 20 feet of the driveway entrance to any fire station and on the side of a street opposite the entrance to any fire station within 75 feet of said entrance (when properly signposted).
(11) 
Alongside or opposite any street excavation or obstruction when stopping, standing or parking would obstruct traffic.
(12) 
On the roadway side of any vehicle stopped or parked at the edge or curb of a street.
(13) 
Upon any bridge or other elevated structure upon a highway, unless otherwise authorized by the Director of Public Safety and when properly sign posted.
(14) 
Within 20 feet of a street corner at an intersection.
(15) 
Parallel to or at an angle with any curbing that is painted yellow.
(16) 
In any prohibited parking area of a municipal parking lot (when properly signposted).
(17) 
At any place where official signs prohibit stopping, standing or parking.
B. 
No person shall move a vehicle not lawfully under his/her control into any such prohibited area or away from a curb such distance as is unlawful.
The Director of Public Works or his/her designee is hereby authorized to erect signs indicating no parking upon either or both sides of any street adjacent to any school property when such parking would, in his/her opinion, interfere with traffic or create a hazardous situation.
A. 
The Director of Public Works or his/her designee is hereby authorized to erect signs indicating "no parking either side" upon any two-way street when the width of the roadway as determined by the Director of Public Works or his/her designee, or upon one side of a street as indicated by such signs when the width of the roadway does not exceed 30 feet.
B. 
When official signs prohibiting parking are erected upon narrow streets as authorized herein, no person shall park a vehicle upon any such street in violation of any such sign.
The Director of Public Works or his/her designee is authorized to erect signs upon the left-hand side of any one-way street to prohibit the standing or parking of vehicles, and when such signs are in place, no person shall stand or park a vehicle upon such left-hand side in violation of any such signs.
In the event a highway includes two or more separate roadways divided by a median strip and traffic is restricted to one direction upon any such roadway, no person shall stand or park a vehicle upon the left-hand side of such one-way roadway unless signs are erected to permit such standing or parking. The Director of Public Works or his/her designee is authorized to determine when standing or parking may be permitted upon the left-hand side of any such one-way roadway and to erect signs giving notice thereof.
A. 
The Director of Public Works or his/her designee is hereby authorized to determine and designate by proper signs places not exceeding 100 feet in length in which the stopping, standing or parking of vehicles would create an especially hazardous condition or would cause unusual delay to traffic.
B. 
When official signs are erected at hazardous or congested places as authorized herein, no person shall stop, stand or park a vehicle in any such designated place.

All boats on trailers, trailers and mobile homes shall be banned from parking upon any street within the confines of the City of Pawtucket between the hours of 6:00 p.m. and 6:00 a.m. Monday through Sunday, including holidays. The penalty for each violation shall be $52 for each and every day that the violation continues.

A. 
When notification has been made of intent, from time to time, to clean the public streets, it shall be unlawful for any person to park upon or fail to remove a vehicle from any street that is to be cleaned, until such time as the street has been cleaned.
B. 
Notice of the dates of the cleaning of each individual public street shall be provided to the public as follows:
(1) 
Sent with the annual real estate tax bill; and
(2) 
Published in a newspaper of general circulation at least four weeks prior to the start of street sweeping season; and
(3) 
Posted on signs on the streets to be cleaned; and
(4) 
Posted on the City of Pawtucket website and/or respective social media pages; and
(5) 
Called prior to the start of street sweeping season by CodeRed or other automated telephone calling service used by the City with a message informing the public of where to find the dates as described in Subsection B(1) through (4) above.
In addition to the forms of notice to be provided above, the Director of Public Works may also provide notice to the public in a manner he or she deems appropriate.
C. 
The owner of any vehicle in violation of this section upon a first offense shall be subject to a fine of $15; and upon a second offense shall be subject to a fine of $25; and upon a third or each subsequent offense thereafter shall be subject to a fine of $40. The Chief of Police or his or her designee, upon a subsequent or habitual offense, is authorized to order the removal of the vehicle. Any vehicle thus removed may be reclaimed after payment of the monetary fine, the towing fee and any storage fee.
