The owner of any lands abutting upon the public
highways, roads, and/or streets of the Borough of Glassboro, Gloucester
County, New Jersey, shall remove any snow and ice up to four inches
from the sidewalks in front of his or her said lands within 48 hours
of any fall; or for any snow or ice over four inches and up to 10
inches within 72 hours of the fall; or for any snow or ice over 10
inches or greater, within 120 hours of the fall or, if the fall has
ended during the night, then within 48, 72 or 120 hours of the next
daylight after the fall, depending on the amount of snow and ice as
noted herein, with a minimum cleared pathway width of 36 inches. The
amount of snow or ice fallen, per this section, will be determined
by records kept by the National Climatic Data Center or any other
weather reporting agency.
Any person who shall fail to comply with or
who violates any provisions of this chapter shall, on conviction of
such violation, pay a fine not exceeding $50 for each violation, in
the discretion of the Municipal Judge.

The cost and expense paid and incurred by such Highway Department
or other officer aforesaid for removing such ice or snow from such
sidewalks shall be ascertained by the Council of the Borough and certified
to the Tax Collector of the Borough, and such expense shall be added
to the tax or taxes of the premises abutting or bordering upon any
such street, avenue or highway aforesaid, to be collected according
to law, and shall be a lien upon said premises until paid.
