Constables will be governed by the New York State Criminal Procedure Law, Article 2, §§ 2.10, 2.20 and 2.30.

Constables can stand at the ready to support important local missions that other police agencies may not have time or staff for handling at that time, i.e.:
A.
Maintain order in the courtroom during court proceedings; provide for the security and protection of the Judge, Clerk, jury, and other courtroom participants and visitors upon request of the presiding Justice.
B.
Perform security and/or patrol duties within the Town for purposes of crime prevention, detection of unlawful and illicit conduct.
C.
Serve summons and complaints, which include notices, orders of protection, subpoenas; completes all related paper work and maintain reports when required.
Town of Tully Constables will not carry firearms while performing duties as a Town Constable in and for the Town of Tully.
