on the lot only as an accessory use to the dwelling thereon.
PUBLIC SWIMMING POOL
Any structure intended for bathing, swimming, soaking or
diving purposes made of concrete masonry, metal or other impervious
materials and provided with a recirculating and/or controlled water

an individual for the use of his/her family and friends.
[Amended 4-13-1999 by L.L. No. 1-1999]
No public or private swimming pool shall be
constructed, installed or maintained on any premises unless it complies
with the provisions of this chapter.
[Amended 1-2-2001 by L.L. No. 1-2001; 12-4-2006 by L.L. No. 8-2006]
Building permits shall expire if the work authorized
has not been completed within six months after the date of issuance.
The Building Inspector may authorize, in writing, two three-month
extensions to the permit. If construction of a below-surface pool
is not completed within the six-month period or extension thereof,
any excavation shall be completely filled and the surface restored
to its original state.
[Amended 4-13-1999 by L.L. No. 1-1999]
Any lighting and electrical fixtures, wiring
and installation shall be in accordance with the standard practices
as required by the National Electric Code and the New York State Uniform
Fire Prevention and Building Code, the latest edition thereof.
All swimming pools shall be provided with drainage
to a drainage easement or swale or storm drain, but in no case to
a sanitary sewer or toward the direction of a septic field. Drainage
of pools shall not in any way adversely affect adjoining property
owners. Below-surface pools shall be provided with washed gravel or
crushed stone on the exterior of the pool sides where deemed necessary

All pools located on lots which are served by
public or central water systems shall not have their initial filling
provided from the central water supply system. Nothing in this chapter
shall be deemed to prevent or prohibit the seasonal refilling of such
pools so long as proper measures are taken to prevent backflow into
the public or central water supply system.
Any person who shall violate the provisions
of this chapter or the rules and regulations adopted hereunder shall
be guilty of a violation and shall, upon conviction, be liable to
a fine not exceeding $250 or imprisonment for a term not exceeding
15 days, or both.
