[Amended 11-3-2020]
The Council shall appoint a Town Manager for a term not to exceed
three years and shall fix the Manager's compensation. The Manager

qualifications. The Manager need not be a resident of the Town or
state at the time of appointment and may reside outside the Town while
in office with the approval of the Council.
The Town Manager may be removed for cause by the Council in
accordance with the provisions of the statutes of the State of Maine
relating to the removal of a Town Manager.
The Town Manager may designate, subject to Council confirmation,
an individual capable of performing the Manager's duties during a
temporary absence or disability. In the event the Manager fails to
make such designation, the Town Council may appoint an individual
capable of performing the duties of the Manager during such absence
or disability and until the Manager shall return or the disability
